Ah yes, the void. Create nothing, destroy everything.
The Void is the ever consuming force of chaos in Last Epoch.
But it is way more than that. It is a metaphor for Earth, also known as Hell.
What if I told you that you are already living in the Void, in Hell.
That this world, your daily grind, your filling out spreadsheets 9 to 5, is a giant cosmic scam.
I mean, how’s paying off your loans going for you?
What is the Void?
Well, it’s not that dark. But intentionally or not, the Void in Last Epoch is a mirror to the real world. And it has a truly deep, but also slightly frightening lesson for us all.
In Last Epoch, the Void is basically what happens when you let the universe’s worst intern handle reality for a day.
It consumes, it corrupts, and it absolutely refuses to mind its own business.
If you look at the creatures of the Void, they are very similar to demons and similar creatures of evil. It’s the same in horror movies.
Everything we associate with darkness or corruption is basically creatures looking like chaos manifest.
The good guys are always clean and bright and orderly.
As they say, cleanliness is godliness. And chaos is the antidote to that.
But the scary part is, this isn’t just fiction. This is eerie similar to how Jesus described Earth in the Hidden and Rejected books.
The Apocrypha.
Why Earth is Hell According to Jesus
Trapped, chaotic, corrupted, and designed to keep souls from escaping.
That is the Earth. In the game, people fight the void, thinking they can win. But the more they fight, the deeper they get sucked in.
And that, my friends, is exactly how karma and reincarnation work. Like, oh cool, you paid off your debt.
Congrats, here’s a mortgage. Oh, you finally found love. Awesome. Oh, well, she cheated. It’s like every time you think you’re out, life drags you back in.
It is not life, it is the Void.
It’s not the Void, it is Satan.
It’s all the same.
Ancient texts, including some from the Apocrypha, which is again, books that were hidden from the Bible by the church, suggest Earth isn’t a paradise, but a training ground.
A place where souls come to learn, but often get trapped in suffering. Just like how the Void traps people in Last Epoch.
It’s not so much that you are put into a prison.
Because free will is still the highest doctrine. But as long as you decide to live in sin, which is just fancy talk for doing things you know are bad for you, you will be trapped on earth.
Jesus Talked About Karma
That is karma. If you do bad things, you create negative karma, and you will be reincarnated so long until you finally work through all that karma.
Then, can you come back to be one with God.
This is exactly what Jesus was talking about when he was talking about hell. The endless fiery pit of destruction and greed and lust and the pit of sin.
It’s not an actually fiery pit. It is earth.
Due to the things we do to us. It is not God that makes people cheat on each other. It is not God that makes you kill someone or steal something from someone. It is us. Humans.
Tempted by the void.
By Satan.
How to Escape the Wheel of Karma?
Now here’s where it gets interesting. Jesus didn’t just come to tell people to be nice.
No, he came to show us the cheat codes. He straight up told people, This place? It’s rigged. Don’t get too comfortable here.
He literally said, “My kingdom is not of this world.” Translation? Yeah, I don’t live in this dumpster fire you call Earth.
And much like Inarius said, “I have returned to Hell, for you.”
so Jesus came back to hell to help us escape.
Except Inarius dies like a bitch in the process, but that’s a different topic.
And yet, people are out here acting like the goal is to win at life, when Jesus was like, bro, the real win is leaving earth.
Walking with Jesus means living without sin as much as possible.
It just means working through your karma. Sacrificing yourself, that is working through your karma.
And the sooner and better and stronger you sacrifice yourself and you do good things and work through your karma, the sooner you can leave hell, the corrupted world of pain and suffering, the all consuming void, much like in Last Epoch.
Satan Only Bothers the Good People
The higher the corruption, the tougher your battles will be. So it is in real life. The more you try to walk with Jesus and be a good guy, the more shit will be thrown your way.
People say, Satan only bothers you when you are with God, before that he doesn’t care.
The shade of Orobyss only cares about you when you work through high corruption.
So what to do?
In Last Epoch, fighting the void isn’t just about brute force. You need wisdom, strategy, and well, not getting eaten alive.
Same with real life. If Earth is a trap, the way out isn’t to grind harder. It is to wake up.
The Void thrives on fear, attachment, and ignorance. It needs a real hero, and, well, legendary gear, I guess, to fight against it, much like in real life.
Everyone can indulge in lust, greed, and easy pleasures, doing Satan’s work for him.
But doing the good work, that’s tough. You break free by realizing you were never meant to be stuck here in the first place.
So next time you see a glowing portal to another reality, Maybe, just maybe, step through it.
Now this isn’t all dark and doomy, Earth can be a lot of fun, but it isn’t found in easy pleasures and helping the void to consume even more.
It is found in using your god given talents for the better.
Helping thy neighbor, sacrificing yourself for the greater good, seeing it as a school playground. You got work to do, friend.
But in between, it is totally fine to enjoy yourself. Not with easy pleasures, but with love, experiences, and people.
Relationships. Find joy in life by being the hero who fights the void.
The evil, ever consuming darkness.
The nothingness.
Be the shining light.
The traveler.
A guiding light on the battlefield of eternity.
