Ashwagandha, your best testosterone booster?

No, I didn’t fall asleep on the keyboard. Ashwagandha is an Indian plant, and it is said to increase fertility in men, as well as testosterone production and overall manliness.

But actually, it’s mostly for better sleep. So what the hell does it really do? And why should you take it every day if you have a dick?

I’ve taken Ashwagandha for thirty days now and here is what I learned.

Quick disclaimer, my testosterone levels were average before it. Which is still way lower than a normal man had 50 years ago, but it’s average now. I haven’t done blood testing now, but trust me, you know the difference…

What is Ashwagandha?

Ashwagandha is an ancient medicinal herb. It’s classified as an adaptogen, which means it can help your body manage stress.

It is based in Ayurveda, a form of alternative medicine based on Indian principles of natural healing.

It has been used for over 3,000 years to reduce stress, increase energy levels, and improve concentration. So it is 100% natural. It’s not made in a factory or anything like that. Ancient medicine.

It’s basically a plant, and the powder you buy consists of the root of the plant, maimed to granular powder.

“Ashwagandha” is Sanskrit for “smell of the horse,” which refers to both its unique smell and ability to increase strength. And the taste, sort of. It is indeed very bitter.

What does Ashwagandha do?

General benefits, it apparently has:

  • Reduce blood sugar levels (study)
  • Might have anticancer properties (study 1, study 2)
  • Reduce cortisol levels (the stress hormone (study))
  • Multiple studies show it reduces stress in people (even chronic stress) to about 69%. This is what this plant is mostly known for
  • May increase muscle mass and strength (study)
  • Reduce inflammation
  • Increase brain function and memory capacity
  • Provide better sleep (not longer, better!)
  • May reduce symptoms of depression (although I personally think this has to do with the gender hormone levels)

To which we get now: The Testosterone

Ashwagandha will get you going (again).

In a study of 75 infertile men, the group treated with Ashwagandha showed increased sperm count and motility. It led to a significant increase in testosterone levels.

Over 167% increase in sperm count, and a 17% increase in testosterone levels. On infertile men.

For healthy men, it increased T-levels by 15%, and reduced cortisol by 25% which is also known to directly influence Testosterone (study). So it’s probably higher.

And trust me, that is true.

We can summarize it as mostly helping to reduce cortisol (which is known to block hormones like tesosterone) and generally regulate your hormonal levels.

So the increased testosterone is mostly a byproduct. And, personally I would also argue that the better sleep and calmness is a byproduct of a regulated hormone household.

We know that hormones play a big role in how you feel, act, and develop.

Having them set right with just eating a table spoon of a plant each day is a damn bargain.

Ashwagandha dosage for testosterone increase?

What is the correct dosage of Ashwagandha to increase testosterone? Well, I get this question a lot, but it’s wrong.

There is no dosage to increase T. Again, the increased testosterone is a byproduct of having your hormones regulated.

If you take more, it won’t double your T increase.

The dosage is 1-2 tablespoons of the powder each day.

Personally I take it once a day, but am thinking about increasing it. This is up to you, but I hardly think it will have much of an impact.

My experience with Ashwagandha

First of all, you will get used to the taste pretty quickly. At first, it’s kind of disgusting, but if you mix it into milk with honey, or any juice, it’s fine.

Now I drink it mixed into water. But that really depends on your taste.

After about a week, you notice something changing. You feel more energetic, more aggressive, more manly. You sleep better. Wake up more relieved.

This might sound like woo-woo, but it’s just the increased testosterone levels.

Your T-levels determine exactly what I pictured. Aggressiveness, energy levels, etc. It also means you’re horny af.

So prepare your woman accordingly. Ashwagandha is also known as a sexual stimulant.

After all, the Indians made the Kamasutra. So, yeah.

How does it feel to take Ashwagandha?

True masculinity can be felt. And you will feel it.

As an ex-Nice Guy, feeling truly manly is an awesome feeling. But the aggressiveness that it brings isn’t just physical. You attack your problems immediately.

You have the energy to do so.

And you don’t overthink shit, you just do it.

I take it once a day, in the evening. Before I go to sleep (together with whey protein and glycine).

When I first started, I would take it in the afternoon, and about half an hour later I noticed an increase in energy and drive.

Now I take it before sleep and the effect seems to adjust itself. I can sleep better and deeper. It doesn’t mean I am going crazy into overdrive.

Maybe my body is already used to it and immediately starts producing testosterone. I don’t know. But the effects are truly noticeable.

The next day, I am refreshed, because I slept so nice. Even if I get up at 5 am and am still a little groggy, it goes away quickly and I can focus. Especially with this app.

So in my experience, it doesn’t matter when you take it. It matters that you do. Again, a regulated hormone household is important throughout your day, as well as when you sleep.

You don’t feel dizzy. It’s not a drug, it’s a herb. You feel clear. Focused.

Calm, relaxed, like a rock in the sea. Basically, just a fixed testosterone level and general healthy body.

Obviously, you should eat properly already anyway. If you eat a ton of junk food and sugar, Ashwagandha won’t help your case. A simple plant cannot fight against factory made sugary junk.

The cleaner you eat, the better the effects will be.

Effects of taking the herb

I definitely noticed a shift towards my wife. I don’t know if it is because I was writing this blog each day, so my writing formed my thoughts, or because of the T-levels, but I definitely handled her completely differently. Masculine.

Which as you should know by now, has great benefits.

I was calm and collected. But would aggressively tackle my issues. Stand up for my needs with her, which made her really appreciate me.

I was less irritated by her natural moods. Shit being thrown at me didn’t bother me as much. I took her by force more than ever.

It’s crazy, I was very skeptical of this because it has so many positive effects. Supposedly. But I am a big believer of the old ancient teachings, and back then, shamans and healers used herbs and psychedelics to cure people.

Why do we think this doesn’t work anymore?
